We highly recommend that our customers choose one of the two translation plans below when seeking legal translation services. Although our Basic plan is more affordable, choosing it will mean entrusting your important legal translation to a translator who may not have the proper legal background and expertise.
Legal Translation Services FAQ
Our legal translators are experts in their field, as well as native speakers, and are able to provide legal document translation of all sorts. We’ve provided translations of: real estate contracts, professional contracts, licenses, patents and trademarks, lawsuits and court proceedings, foreign identification and visa documentation, confidentiality agreements, and more.
While some legal documents merely require translation, international businesses know that localization of legal documents can be very important to make sure you comply with local laws, regulations, and formatting standards. In many cases, translating word for word isn’t enough, and sections of a contract, license, etc may need to be updated for new countries. This is also why it’s important to work with a local linguist who is familiar with local laws.
Like all our translators, our legal translators are certified in their language pairs. In addition, they have previous experience performing legal translations, or have worked in the legal industry in their language. They are also extremely meticulous; unlike many other types of translations, where a bit of interpretation can be a good thing, legal translations must reflect the message of the original text accurately and idiomatically, and be free of spelling or grammatical errors.
Most of our projects begin within an hour of submission, and we do our best to complete translations in 1-2 business days – you will see a more accurate time estimate based on your word count and language pair at checkout. Due to the limited number of legal translators – especially in certain languages – it may take a bit longer than usual to find the perfect legal translator. If you need to put a rush on your project, you can select the “Urgent Delivery” option at checkout or contact customer support.
